Born in Minnesota and raised throughout the Midwest, Deborah moved to the Pacific Northwest with her family when she was 15. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business and accounting from Pacific Lutheran University—go Lutes!
Deborah began her accounting career in the corporate world, serving as Accounting Manager for a manufacturing company in Lakewood. After nine years, she became self-employed as a contract controller, helping business owners establish sound accounting systems and make better use of their accounting software. She enjoyed working closely with a variety of businesses, which ultimately led her to public accounting and taxation.
Deborah joined Lux & Associates, P.S., in 1998 and later became the owner of the firm, now known as Kirk Accounting Solutions, P.S. She works with individuals, businesses, trusts, and estates, providing tax preparation, planning, and practical guidance tailored to each client’s circumstances. She especially values the long-term relationships she has developed with her clients and enjoys helping them navigate complex tax matters in a practical, approachable way.
Deborah and her husband, Steve, have been married for more than 40 years. Steve is now retired, and their daughter, Stephanie, has a family of her own. Outside the office, Deborah enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially her grandson—cruising, traveling, exploring the Pacific Northwest, and cheering on Seattle’s sports teams.
